Important Updates for July & August
Oops, due to a 5th week Friday, we inadvertantly announced our July party for the FOURTH Friday AND July 29th. The correct date is the 22nd.
Also late in August we wil close for a few days as we visit Terryl's dad in Florida. So there will be no classes AFTER August 29th through Labor Day Monday. We will reopen on Wednesday September 7th.
As we have for the last three years, we will be teaching at the Autry Museum's Sizzling Summer Nights for seven consecutive Thursdays starting July 7th. Although it's a 30-minute intro class at 7:30 for the newbies, the Autry has great bands, a spectacular open-air venue, and the price includes admisssion to the museum. To accommodate the series, our Thursday Ballroom 2 classes will begin at 8:30 starting July 7th through August 18th.
Finally due to the various holidays we will shift our monthly party to the FOURTH FRIDAY of July, August and September at 8 pm.
Dance Adventures Meet-Up
If you haven’t heard by now we started a new Dance Club that we think is going to be very different. Not a dance club like a nightclub, but a new group that everyone is free to join. If you like going to dance events but don’t like going alone, this club will be great for you!
Here is how it works: You join our group on Meet-Up, we post events that we will be going to as a group. Some events you drive to yourself, some events we will charter a bus, and some events will involve travel by plane or cruise ship. When you arrive, you will know members of our group and have somebody to dance with. This is not something to promote our classes or parties (of course, we encourage you to come dance at our events!), but rather to be able to go as a group, whether to know your friends are going or just save money on gas.
Events will include local club nights, socials at other dance studios, trips to San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Caribbean or Hawaii trips. Some of these events will be Ballroom Dance Events like the World Ballroom Championships that we recently participated in, or Salsa Congresses, or Swing Championships. Some events require ordering tickets in advance in order to get good seating. For example, if you want to attend the US Open Swing Championships in November and sit a a table as a group you must order NOW! So our group will facilitate that. This is not an exclusive group for one particular style of dance; we will participate in all types of events (Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, Country, etc). But best of all, you'll always know somebody when you get there.

Caribbean Mega Cruise - UPDATE
Although we had planned on taking a group to the Caribbean, the recent death of Enio's dad forced us to delay the planning. Our initial plan was to go from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, returning to Miami for the biggest party in the WORLD Calle Ocho! So although we have our ship planned out, we will be going early March 2018. If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible.
New Students - Welcome!
This content rich website is designed to help you get started dancing whether you start with us or try elsewhere. Check out our Getting Started page and the pages associated with the styles of dancing that you want to try: SalsaCentral, Ballroom Central, or Swing Central.
Why Classes in South Pasadena?
There are many reasons why but, primarily it is where Enio and his brother Robert grew up going to the local schools as well as their kids. When I decided to have my own group classes it was at this same War Memorial Building. After 24 years of having the most successful studio and nightclub in the San Gabriel Valley, I have moved home to take care of my dad who just passed in July. Even better, where running a studio/nightclub/restaurant was an 18 hour-a-day job, now we have this wonderful facility with a huge floor, fantastic AIR CONDITIONING, clean bathrooms, great parking, superb freeway accessibility, and a Starbucks, Winchells, & 31 Flavors across the street in a much nicer area.
What Makes Us Different?
What do most new students look for in a studio? A place that makes learning fun, makes it easy, has lots of nice people to meet and the teachers are excellent in their knowledge of the subjects. Lots of studio are fun and have people but many teachers are only one page ahead of their students in terms of knowledge. For many years we have only had the best of the best in our studio. We've had as regular teachers World Champions in Swing, Salsa & Latin and US Champions in Swing, Ballroom & Latin, not someone who won Joe's Bar and Grill's WORLD championship and barely started dancing last year and not somebody who took a once-a-week social dance course at some local university that confers dance degrees. Dancing is achieved by major study with superior artists, honed by thousands of hours of practice and competition mastery. A good studio doesn't try to sell you Waltz lessons if you only want Tango or Salsa. A good studio doesn't teach you ballroom style (Swing, Salsa, Tango) and try to pass it off as street (Swing, Salsa & Tango). A street dancer on the other hand only knows one type of dance and usually has little expertise in lead and follow, body mechanics and other styles. Whether you want street style, social ballroom style or full out Dancing with the Stars Dancesport, we are masters of all of these and will have you dancing in a short time.
Although we share the location, the City of South Pasadena has graciously given us 4 days to teach classes and hold dance parties. So while it is not a 7 day situation, we are so much happier now. What made Let's Dance (with apologies to Disneyland) the Happiest Place on Earth, was the people not the building. As always, Enio & Terryl teach in tandem and classes are mostly 75 to 90 minutes so value is always the best in town!
Just as we did at Let's Dance L.A. we have class and a little dance practice afterwards. If you would like to attend all we ask is that you bring a friend who needs to learn to dance. More than anything we want to continue the legacy of Let's Dance L.A., a studio without equal, that was home to many of you for so many years. So we want to invite you to come back as you did the first day when you walked into 216 E. Main or even the Granada. Take a lesson, laugh at our jokes, stay and reconnect. Most of all have fun.
